Digital Reading Resources

Below are resources gathered for online learning during the 2020-2021 school year. This resources have been updated as of August 25, 2020. 

Mackin Via
MackinVia is available all year on and off campus through the library. It is an e-library that offers connections to electronic books as well as databases. Mackin Via is also available through an app for smart phone and tablets.

Epic Books
Epic is available Monday-Friday from 6 AM - 3 PM. Epic will be available until June 2021. Students must be invited through a class code given by the teacher. 

Kidtopia - Offers informational resources including games, videos, and more. Kidtopia is a free resource.

Read-Along With PBS Kids- This YouTube Channel offers books read out loud, and is offered by PBS Kids.  

Storyline Online - A project from the SAG Actors Foundation, actors read out loud picture books on pre-recorded videos. 

BTSB Educational ResourcesBound to Stay Bound offers educational resources including authors and publishers who offer videos, activities, and read alouds during school closures. They also offer educational websites, fun games and downloadable activities, and virtual tours.This website has not been updated for the new school by the publisher. Some resources may no longer be available. 

KidLit TVKidLit TV offers picture books read out loud in video format. KidLit TV is published by New York Media Works.

McAllen Public Library E-Branch- If you have a McAllen Library account you are able to access their E-Branch which include Overdrive for Teens, Overdrive for Kids, and Tumblebooks. 

Speer Memorial Library - Speer Memorial Library offers online resources including Tumblebooks
